Family Love with Ruby Rock-It

Hello, friends!  I'm here to share my latest projects with the Ruby Rock-It Eklectique collection.  I love the beautiful, vintage feel of this collection.  It is not only perfect for sweetheart love, but also the love of a family.

I took this sweet photo of my great niece and nephew at our family reunion last week.  It makes me so happy to see each new generation of our family growing and learning to appreciate how important we are to each other.
To create this layout, I cut 16 squares measuring 2"x 2" and arranged them into a 4x4 square.  I then layered my photo and embellishments.  I think this is a wonderful way to incorporate lots of different patterned papers into one pretty layout.

One of my favorite Ruby Rock-It products is the 4.5" x 6.5" paper pads.  I used the Eklectique mini paper pad to create my two projects today.  It is the perfect size for cards, but also for creating fun layouts. I also included the Eklectique lace, tags, and cardstock stickers.

I used the same crafty ingredients to create this card.  Although, it would be great to send to a sweetheart, this card was actually created for my niece, who is like a sister to me. I incorporated my own vintage goodies with the Eklectique collection, including the button, snaps, and decorative pins.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.  I hope you enjoy this new collection as much as I do.

Time to Celebrate with Ruby Rock-It

Hello, friends! I'm happy to share with you a few of my latest projects with the lovely new "China Blue" collection. These truly blue projects would be great to celebrate a birthday or non-traditional wedding.
KYowlerRRBlueChina1
I created a fun gift bag and stepper card using Ruby Rock-It "China Blue" mini paper pack, 12x12" cardstock, cardstock stickers, tag set, and brad set. I really like the mix of large and small prints in this collection that coordinate so well.

My tip for this project is to hand cut and layer designs from your patterned paper to create great accents.  The center circles on this bag and card were cut from 12x12" patterned paper and anchored with a decorative brad.

The decorative strips along the top of this card and bag were also cut from 12x12" patterned paper.  Notice how I've also layered more than one strip on the bag and on both projects bent the curves on the strips ever so slightly for dimension.
Don't be stumped by paper with bold patterns.  Embrace them and create your own custom accents.

I Believe in You with Want2Scrap

Hello, friends! I'm such a girly, girl. I love flowers, fancy shoes, and lots of pink. Add one sweet little girl, and this layout really makes me smile.

I loved creating with some of my favorite Want2Scrap products, including Chipboard Sentiments, Yellow Bling Flower, Hot Pink Rose Ribbon, and Cloud Diecuts.

I love the texture that the chipboard and flowers add to the layout. The Hot Pink Rose Ribbon was a perfect match for this sweet paper collection by Nikki Sivils. Adding dimensional adhesive to a few key elements in the layout really adds interest.

What Want2Scrap products are you using?  We'd love for you to share your creations on our Facebook page.

Family Ties with My Little Shoebox

KYowlerMLSAikoJuly
Hello, friends!  I'm so happy to share my latest layout with the My Little Shoebox "Aiko" collection.  This sweet little collection has become one of my favorites. I love how the bright colors and lovely patterns have added new life to this b/w vintage photo.
003
I love layering lots of patterned papers and accents.  Elevating the top layer of your accents with dimensional adhesive really gives your layout pizzaz.
005
Another one of my tips...Journaling blocks are not just for journaling.  Notice in the above photo how I used a journaling block just to anchor and accent my sentiment and diecut.

Visit the My Little Shoebox blog each and every day this month for amazing, new design team projects.
Have a wonderfully creative day!
