Happy New Year Blog Hop

Happy New Year!!! We're happy to present the January challenge from Imaginisce. This month is a "found" altered challenge. Your assignment (if you choose to accept it...hehehe) is to find something in your house and alter it. Please use 75% Imaginisce products for this challenge.
I had this great jar just waiting to be decorated. I used patterned papers from the Imaginisce Lucy Bird collection. These colors are not traditional winter colors, but I love the whimsical combination of pink and turquoise for any season. I had a great time accenting these gorgeous papers with my Martha Stewart and Fiskars punches, Emaginations decorative scissors, Ranger distress inks, and Elle's Studio sentiment stamps. The turquoise ribbon was the perfect finishing touch. A jar of M&M's never looked so yummy :)
So...where do you start? To be eligible for the blog hop prize worth over $50.00 of Imaginisce products, visit the blogs listed on the hop at the Imaginisce blog and leave a comment at each of our posts. When you are finished, return to the Imaginisce blog and leave a comment there. One winner will be randomly chosen.
To be eligible for the January challenge prize worth over $75.00 of Imaginisce products, link your altered project to today's post on the Imaginisce blog.
I can't wait to see what you create :)

Our Year

Time to reflect on another year. The third anniversary of our blended family, 1 teenager, 3 kids in middle school, Kevin changed jobs, 2 new babies in the family...so much to be thankful for.

My last design team assignment for Scrap Tiffany was to create a year in review layout. I decided to use the beautiful Nature's Storybook collection by Webster's Pages to create my layout. I loved using so many of my favorite pics from the year. Aren't those diecut calendars great? They can be found at Elle's Studio.

I also created this card with the Nature's Storybook collection from Webster's Pages. I couldn't resist combining all of these beautiful patterned papers on one card. I'm a sucker for anything floral and this collection is one of my favs.

Be sure to visit again on January 1st. We're having a designer blog hop at Imaginisce with a new January challenge.

Have a great week!

Snow Day

Kevin took this fun snow day picture of us. He is my partner in silly. Well, the countdown to Christmas has officially begun. The kids are crawling around under the tree looking at gifts, dancing around with candy canes, and watching holiday movies. I love it all!

Holiday Wishes

Warm holiday wishes to all of my crafty friends! I love creating holiday crafts and wanted to share a few today. This sweet kitty card was created for the Sketch Challenge at Paper Craft Planet. We have SO much going on at PCP. Please hop over and check us out. The link for the sketch (sk12110) challenge is HERE. There are so many talented ladies sharing their ideas at PCP. Wouldn't you like to be one?

I just love how this layout of my daughter, Jennah, turned out. Well, of course, she is an adorable model :)...but, working with the Joyride collection by Collage Press was a dream! These papers, stickers, and diecuts are just so fun. I also used Martha Stewart punches and Emaginations decorative edge scissors. I created this layout for this week's Girl Power challenge at Scrap Tiffany. Come share your girly layouts HERE.

Remember the magazine Christmas tree tutorial I shared last week? Here is my take. I just love the results draped with vintage ribbon, eyelet lace, and glitter. It is pictured here with one of my altered holiday birdhouses.

And...a parting shot of my angelic puppies, Scout and Trooper. No...they aren't always this sweet and innocent. They just posed so perfect, I had to take a pic. Love my cute babies!

Have a great Winter day :)

You Are My Sunshine...

I received the most wonderful email today. I've been asked to join the Super Nova Design Team at Paper Craft Planet. This amazing site is full of tutorials, challenges, sketches, forums, and some of the most amazing talent in the universe. Hop on over and join in on the fun HERE.

I wanted to share a few of the Christmas projects I've been working on this week. I just love how this Festive Shadow Box turned out. I used a shadow box by Darice, patterned papers by Webster's Pages, jeweled sentiment by Making Memories, and ribbon. The beautiful jeweled flower is a piece of vintage jewelry. I have jars of antique jewelry that I have collected. They make such a wonderful addition to any project.

This little beauty is what I call a Christmas Chunkie. I use chunks of wood (thank you, hubby) to create decorative pieces. This chunk of wood measures 4.5" x5". I painted it red, lightly sanded the edges, and adhered some of my favorite elements: patterned paper by Making Memories, a beautiful vintage postcard, metal sentiment by Making Memories, punch by Fiskars, decorative scissors by Emagination, distress ink by Ranger, vintage dictionary pages, ribbon, and antique jewelry.

This sweet postcard reminds me of a little girl finding a pony from Santa on Christmas morning.

Well, I'm off to finish some gift calendars and glittery ornaments. Have a wonderful winter evening!

A Big Thank You...

A BIG Thank You to everyone for your birthday wishes. I had a wonderful day with my family filled with cinnamon french toast, chick flicks, and crafting. Fabulous!

Join me at Scrap Tiffany for this week's challenge: Homemade Flowers. Create a layout, card, or altered project using homemade flowers. What could be more fun? Link you project HERE.
I created this sweet Christmas card using a digi stamp from Maurie Manning at Digital Pencil Too, Copic Markers, sentiment stamp from Studio G (stamped and embossed), flower dies for Tim Holtz, snowflake punch by Martha Stewart, brad from Making Memories, and copper leafing pen.

We had our usual family fun decorating for Christmas this week. My 5 wild kiddos are shown on this layout after decorating the tree. I let them loose decorating the tree while I decorate the mantle. They did a fantastic job. Don't you LOVE these cute chipboard deer by Magistical Memories? I added homemade antlers using my Martha Stewart snowflake punch :) I created this layout for a sketch challenge at Magistical Memories. Hop on over and check it out. For this layout, I also used patterned paper by Jillibean Soup & Basic Grey, Journaling circle by Martha Stewart, brad by Basic Grey, border punch & snowflake punch by Martha Stewart, a paper doily, and chipboard letters.

Have a wonderful winter day!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

Hello friends, I'm so excited it is December. Not only is Christmas approaching, but my birthday is this weekend. I know...I shouldn't be so excited about turning 29 (OK...41), but I am. Any excuse to celebrate with my family makes me smile.

Please join us this week at Scrap Tiffany for this week's sketch challenge. Isn't it fabulous? My layout, "A Day in My Life", was inspired by this sketch. I love that sweet little pic of my daughter, Jennah. Link your layout/card inspired by this sketch HERE.

I wanted to share some wonderful links that have inspired me this week. Check out this incredible holiday tree tutorial by my buddy, Sheri Twigg. It is SO simple to create these trees with just a magazine. My kids and I have been busy making these to decorate our home. Simply gorgeous!
I'm overjoyed to have my layout featured on the Magistical Memories blog this week. I just love their wonderful chippies. They add so much charm and texture to my projects. Please pop over and say "Hi!".

LOOK who is having their first ever open Design Team Call....Webster's Pages! Aren't their projects just amazing? Check out all of the details HERE. Applications must be received by December 31. Good luck to all who apply.

Looking for a fun, unique gift? Have you visited Junk Gypsy? I just LOVE this site. SO much eye candy. I LOVE this God Bless Buttermilk Biscuits tee! Check out their jewelry and stocking stuffers, too.

I'm keeping busy creating lots of Christmas goodies...cards, calendars, and banners. What are you creating? Leave me a link. I'd love to check it out.

Have a wonderful day :)
