Queen Kat Designs Tuesday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Queen Kat Designs Tuesday Blog Hop! I'm so glad you could join us. If this is your first stop on the hop, please start HERE. We have a wonderful inspiration challenge for you today. Our challenge was to choose a cupcake photo from the internet and create a card based on that photo. I LOVE the one that Shannon chose on our design team site, so I decided to stick with this one. YUMMY!

For my notecard, I used the "Heart on my Sleeve" mermaid by Queen Kat Designs. I colored her with Copic markers and decorated my card with patterned papers by Sassafras Lass and Jillibean Soup. I love the simplicity of the red/white/tan color combination. See all of the QKD stamps in our store.

Also...Don't forget to enter your card/layout/altered project in this week's Verona's Saturday Challenge for your chance at a Queen Kat Designs gift certificate. See this week's challenge HERE.

The next stop on the hop is Kimme's blog. I love Kimme's creations!

Have a wonderful day!

Wish You Were Here

Hello, fellow scrapbookers! I love vacationing with my family. Relaxing, enjoying together time, and making memories for a lifetime. My family recently vacationed in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We rented a log cabin home for myself, my husband, and our 5 kiddies. We had the most wonderful time swimming, riding go-carts, shopping, and exploring. When we return home, it is nice to pick our favorite photos to send to grandparents to share in all of the fun.

I created this great little photo book with scraps from my Kiki Art collections. I love saving every bit of patterned paper for projects just like this. To create this book, I used a 4×6″ card for my base and decorated the front with various sizes of scraps of my favorite Kiki Art patterned papers. I also added stitches of detail with Kiki Art Fun Tape.

For the inside, I cut a piece of 12×12″ cardstock in half and folded each piece in thirds. I glued the bottom third of one sheet to the top third of the second sheet leaving one piece 6″ wide with 5 sections. Adhere this long piece to the bottom of your open card. This will give you 6 photo spots. In each section, I adhered a family photo. These are great to give to each kid of their 6 top photos, too.

Consider creating one of these little photo books to share with your family and friends. All you need is some cardstock and your favorite scraps.

Kiki Art is currently having a fun game for you to participate. Its called "the Naming Game" especially for Kiki-Art Newsletter.

Check out HERE to find out more on this contest game.

Be sure to do it before 31st July 2010!

Hurry!

Have a great Summer day!

Lazy Saturday

I've spent the week repainting my craft studio a wonderful creamy beige. This is a wonderful change from the dark green that was originally in the room. I'm excited to hang my stained shelves and arrange all of my vintage goodies for inspiration. All of that work is next on my agenda. I'll share pics when I get everything put in it's place.

I'm so happy to be on the Nikki Sivils blog this week. Two of my latest projects using Nikki Sivils papers are featured. I just love her sweet collections.

Don't forget today is Saturday. Verona's Saturday Challenge is running all week over at The Whimsical Ink Sorority. This week's challenge is:
Create your best, new stamped card, layout, or altered project that includes 2 different patterned papers. The card I created is above. Isn't that Pink Candy Hair Mermaid just sweet!!! Hop on over to check out all of the details to participate and win a GC to the QKD store.

Just a reminder...I host a weekly stamping challenge every Saturday at The Whimsical Ink Sorority. This week's challenge: "I Heart You". Create your best, new stamped card that includes at least one heart.
Have a great Monday!

Happy 4th!

"Play Ball" layout (Kiki Art)

"Sweet Memories" Altered Art (Queen Kat Design Stamps)

Happy holiday weekend! I hope you are relaxing and enjoying this beautiful holiday with family and friends. Just wanted to share a few goodies I created this week. I love the bright colors and patterns of Kiki Art products. It really challenges me to think outside of the box and I'm always pleased with the results. I created the altered art piece with the sweet "Miss Alice stamp" from Queen Kat Designs. Isn't she just adorable? I couldn't resist adding some glitter to her wings.

Have a wonderful weekend. Stop back by on Tuesday for a challenge from Queen Kat Designs.
