Enjoying the Holiday

I'll tell you...I'm really enjoying this carefree time off from work. I'm getting quite good at Wii Resort Ping Pong, eating way too much junk food, and spending time at my craft desk. I've gotten quite a few design team projects finished for the New Year that I can't wait to share with you. Great news...I received Honorable Mention in the Reminisce Design Team Contest. I had so much fun creating with their Christmas and Autumn lines. I'm very honored to have been recognized. See the announcement here.

I've also been "inspired" this week by the wonderful sketches and DT at Inspired Blueprints. Check out the fabulous December sketches here. This is my take on Sketch #38. I used patterned papers by Crate Paper & October Afternoon, border punch by Martha Stewart (my fav new toy!), Thickers by American Crafts, Ink by Colorbox, Pen by Zig, and Thickers by Ranger.

Have a great day!

Merry Christmas to You...

I want to wish all of my wonderful friends a very Merry Christmas. I've been busy creating lots of holiday goodies for those I love. I've also managed to complete some great holiday challenges. The Double Dose December challenge at Candy Shoppe Designs is chock full of inspiration.

I created this yummy birthday card based on a fabulous inspiration photo at CSD (challenge 2).

I created this angel gift bag based on challenge #1 that includes a list of great holiday scrap goodies. From the list, I used: blue, white, tree, snowflake, music sheet, beige.

Enjoy your holiday, eat lots of goodies, and don't forget to sneak a kiss under the mistletoe :)

Kiki Art goodness

I'm so happy to be designing for Kiki Art, a Canadian scrapbook manufacturer. The products are full of bright colors and glitter. This is one of my new layouts. It's Kevin and I on my 40th birthday this month. It was featured on the Kiki Art blog along with the sketch I created. Hop on over using the link below to view the post. Hope your pre-holiday weekend has not been too hectic. We are relaxing at home, eating Kevin's homemade chili (YUM!) and watching the Bengals play. Enjoy!

Sweet Baby Girl

Our friend, Jessica, is having a baby girl very soon. I purchased a few baby goodies for her and loved creating this card and gift bag to surprise her. Who says that a plain brown gift bag needs to be plain? I scanned the baby card image onto cream cardstock. I collect vintage cards, postcards, and photos from auctions and thrift stores. This beautiful baby card is just adorable and printing it onto cardstock gives it a soft feel. I layered it with cream and pink cardstock, decorated the edges with my Fiskar's punch, added lace and ribbon, and added some sparkle with my fav Stickles, Icicle. I used 2 white tulle circles tied with ribbon to decorate the bottom of the bag. I created a similar design for the card. Cards and gift bags that use your favorite card images can be created for any holiday. Try decorating with sequins, paper streamers, and coffee filters, too. Anything goes. I used my ATG glue gun to adhere the paper. For heavier items such as buttons, lace, and bows, I like to use my hot glue gun. Just imagine how happy your loved ones will be to see a beautifully decorated gift waiting for them :) Have a fantastic week!

Merry and Bright

The Christmas tree is decorated, the presents are tucked away, and the cards are ready to mail. I love the Christmas season. What a wonderful time to create. I love the assortment of holiday scrapbook papers, stickers, and embellies. I found this adorable little wooden birdhouse and angel figurine at the local thrift store and couldn't wait to use my Reminisce holiday collections to make it merry and bright. The great button stickers are Reminisce, too. These are definitely one of my favorite accessories in this collection. I created the dove and trees with the Winter Wonderland Cricut cartridge. Enjoy this December day and take time for yourself.

Here Comes Santa Claus...

Glitter, and shimmer, and goodness...oh my! That is how I feel about the Reminisce collections, Christmastime and Santa's Workshop. The patterned papers and stickers are beautifully embellished with adorable characters, shimmery glitter, and holiday sayings. I created the layout, cards, and wall hanging yesterday. The bright, beautiful colors are perfect for my all of my Christmas goodies :)

Falling for Reminisce

Ok, I know it is a little late in the season for Fall decorations, but I couldn't resist purchasing the Autumn Forest collection by Reminisce. I created this wall hanging featuring these adorable woodland creatures to brighten by scrapbook studio. I used cardboard packaging sprayed with walnut ink to create the background, patterned paper and stickers by Reminisce, ink, cardstock, lace, jute, and machine stitching. I love how it turned out :)

OOH LA LA!

I created this sexy little gift card holder with inspiration from A Million Memories. It would be perfect for gift cards, movie/theater tickets, or a Happy Holidays wish. The complete instructions can be found here. I used Bazzill cardstock, patterned paper by Marks Paper Co & Imaginesce, Ranger ink, ribbon flowers, and tulle.
