Friday thoughts...

It looks like rain will arrive sometime today. We have plans to attend a Fall festival in Louisville tomorrow. I get so much creative inspiration from those festivals. I hope the sky clears by then. As far as inside activities, there is a fabulous Sweet 16 Blog Hop going on over at Candy Shoppe Designs. The sponsor is one of my favs, Studio Calico. Follow this link for all of the details.

Here are a few of my latest layouts.

Back on Track...

I returned today from CKC in Nashville. I'm exhausted after working the SEI booth on Friday and Saturday. I loved meeting so many new scrappy friends. I'll share photos of my trip this week, but today, I wanted to share some new projects. Last week was my MIL's 70th birthday and we surprised her with a huge party. Yes, that is actually the family/friends that attended! I created a birthday card, altered birdhouse, and birthday journal (with everyone's birthday wishes enclosed) as gifts. I used the incredibly yummy Cotillion kit from Studio Callico.

A Little Bit of Sugar...

Don't you love glitter? It reminds me of sugar on top of a yummy dessert. I wanted to share this altered birdhouse I created. I think the glitter on the decorative trim and spires is the perfect finishing touch. I found the beautiful birdhouse at an antique store and decorated it with papers from Basic Grey & Making Memories, fun milk caps, tulle, lots of lace, and of course, Doodlebug Sugarcoated glitter. I'm working on another one for a special loved one's September birthday.

Please stop by next week for a peek at my new birdhouse, birthday cards, altered journal, and birthday banner. Whew! I'd better get busy. Have a fabulous holiday weekend.

Upsy Daisy

Hi everyone! Have you checkout out Upsy Daisy lately? I just finished these projects with 2 of their lines: Simply U & Man About Town II. Aren't these patterned papers & rub-ons COOL? The company is located in Canada. I couldn't find the papers locally, so I ordered direct. Hop on over to the site to see all of their new collections. Be sure to visit the blog. Their designers are the bomb!
