My Thrifty Finds...

Don't you love this fabulous birdhouse? I can't wait to paint and decorate it.
I love these sweet little figures.

This precious little music box plays the sweetest tune.

I have an owl obsession! What could be cuter than this mommy and baby?

I love this planter for my craft supplies.

I love searching thrift stores for wonderful offbeat or vintage items to add to my collection. I have a great collection of vintage postcards, photos, and knick knacks. I've also found lots of goodies for my art projects--lace, buttons, wooden birdhouses, and playing cards. Check out your local thrifts stores. You never know what you'll find.

A Warm Welcome...

I have been wanting to make a Welcome sign for our entryway. This patterned paper by Marks Paper Company was just what I needed to get motivated. The patterns and colors are so beautiful. I wanted to use a sample of each pattern in this collection and add some vintage goodies. I love the way it turned out. I created it from a piece of cardboard packing and included a tag from a pr of jeans. For directions on how I created the paper flower, see the link in the left sidebar under flower tutorial. It makes me smile to see it welcome me home.
What makes you smile? Have a great weekend.

Happy Monday...

We're having the July kit reveal at Scrapdango. These are the projects I created. I just love the Sugar kit with goodies from the So Tweet collection by Pebbles Inc.

Are you a drinker? Water, I mean. I am terrible at drinking water. It's not that I don't like it. I just would rather have a diet coke or some iced tea. So, I bought the coolest thing. It is called the Hydracoach. It is an interactive water bottle that keeps track of how much water you have consumed, how much water your body requires, and how much time you have left in the day to drink the water. OK...it is a fancy water bottle, but anything to help me get into shape and get healthy. I'll let you know how it goes. How much water do you need? Divide your weight in half to determine the number of ounces of water you should have daily.

It's time again to vote for this month's favorite layout at Lotus Paperie. Also, check out the new site. It's fabulous!

Label Tulip, puppies, and other things that make me Smile!

I love the site, Label Tulip! They found me on Facebook and I hoped over to their site to sign up. WOW! The kits are fabulous and the designers are amazing! I have completed a few projects for their Birthday Countdown Celebration going on.

Today has been the best. DH surprised me with an Ipod Touch. Oh, no...technology, but I think I'll get the hang of it :) We also adopted a precious new little Chihuahua named Sugar Belle. She will actually be coming home with us on Wednesday after her girlie surgery is complete. She is the sweetest thing!

I got the great news that 2 of my recent layouts will be published in the July/Aug issues of Scrapbook News and Review. WooHoo!

I'm just full of smiles today! Have a great weekend.

Fabulous July!

I can't believe it is already July! What have you been up to? We have had the most wonderful week at Houston's baseball tournament (Go, Chaos!), watching Brannon, Jennah, and Jacob at their swim team match (Go, Woodhaven Waves!), and enjoying time together at Six Flags amusement park. The weather has been beautiful. These are a few of my fav pics!

July 1st marks the beginning of Scrapdango Sketchapalooza. A month long sketch extravaganza with tons of inspiration and great prizes. Come by and check it out.

Friday is reveal day at Lotus Paperie. This week's challenge is to cut a design from patterned paper and use it on a layout. I loved this challenge! My new collection of Anna Griffin paper was perfect with its gorgeous flowers and swirls. We would love to see what you create!

Have a fabulous Fourth of July weekend!
